Dental Services for Seniors

Keeping your mouth healthy is important at any age! As an older adult, you might have unique dental needs, and we're here to help.

Who can get free dental care?

The Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program offers free dental services for low-income seniors. You can apply if you:

  • Are 65 years or older

  • Live in Ontario

  • Have an annual net income of:

    • $25,000 or less for a single senior

    • $41,500 or less for a couple

  • Do not have private dental insurance or coverage under another program

You can apply online or pick up an application from our St. Thomas or Woodstock offices. Need help? Our staff can help you fill out the form and check if you qualify.

What dental services are covered?

This program covers a range of services to keep your mouth healthy, including:

  • Check-ups (cleaning, fluoride, and polishing)

  • Fixing broken teeth and cavities

  • X-rays

  • Tooth removal and oral surgery

  • Treating pain and infections

  • Treating gum disease

  • Partial coverage for dentures

How to book an appointment?

  1. Apply and get approved – Once approved, you’ll receive a welcome package and a client ID card in the mail.

  2. Book your visit – Call us with your ID card ready to schedule an appointment at one of our dental clinics.

What are some denture care tips?

Dentures need regular care to keep your mouth healthy. Here’s how to care for them:

  • Wear dentures daily, but take them out at night

  • Brush dentures daily with water (no toothpaste)

  • Soak dentures overnight in water or denture cleaner

  • Clean your mouth with an ultra-soft toothbrush or washcloth

  • Visit a dentist regularly to check your dentures’ fit and condition
