Nurse-Family Partnership®
The Nurse-Family Partnership® is a free program that brings a public health nurse to your home to support you through your first pregnancy and into early parenting. If you join, you’ll be matched with a nurse who will guide you with advice, health tips, and parenting skills to help you have a healthy pregnancy and feel confident as a new parent.
Do I qualify for the Nurse-Family Partnership®?
You may qualify for the Nurse-Family Partnership® if you are:

24 years old or younger
-
Pregnant with your first child or preparing to parent for the first time

Less than 28 weeks pregnant

Facing social or financial challenges
-
Living in Elgin County, Oxford County, or the City of St. Thomas
How will a nurse support me?
If you’re eligible, a public health nurse will visit you until your child turns two. They can help you:

Make healthy choices during your pregnancy

Build your skills in parenting and creating a safe environment for your baby

Learn about community resources and connect to support networks

Manage your budget and handle stress as a new parent

Explore your goals as a new parent

Southwestern Public Health offers additional services, including:

Prenatal classes, breastfeeding support, and Public Health Nurse home visits. These services are available to people in Elgin County, Oxford County, and St. Thomas.
