What does the Healthy Schools Team do?
Your Healthy School Team works with students, parents, staff, school boards and community agencies to protect and promote healthy schools. We rely on trusted plans such as the Canadian Healthy Schools Standard to guide our work
Your Healthy Schools Team has a special focus on mental health, substance misuse prevention, and parenting supports but we also cover topics such as: getting ready for kindergarten, clinical supports for students, food in schools, injury prevention and many more!
You can find us both in the classroom engaging with children and youth in health promotion and leadership opportunities and in the community: researching, assessing community needs, developing services and addressing the social determinants of health.
