  • Southwestern Public Health issues a cold weather alert on February 17, 2025

    Southwestern Public Health (SWPH) issues cold weather alerts when Environment Canada forecasts an air temperature of -15˚C or lower or a wind chill of -20˚C or lower.

    Environment Canada is forecasting temperatures near -30˚C with the wind chill in the SWPH region beginning Monday night and into Tuesday morning. 

     

  • Southwestern Public Health issues a cold weather alert on February 13, 2025

    Southwestern Public Health (SWPH) issues cold weather alerts when Environment Canada forecasts an air temperature of -15˚C or lower or a wind chill of -20˚C or lower.

    Environment Canada is forecasting temperatures as low as -12˚C and -21˚C with the wind chill, in the SWPH region beginning overnight Thursday and continuing into the morning on Friday, February 14, 2025. The temperatures are forecast to drop again, beginning on Monday, February 17, 2025, with cold temperatures and wind chills continuing into the middle of the week.

  • Southwestern Public Health issues drug watch for Oxford and Elgin County

    Southwestern Public Health is issuing a drug watch to its partners and the public based on the following:

    • Fentanyl of various colours with a strong benzo effect present in the community based on anecdotal reports from community partners
    • There are corresponding reports of increased deaths in the region from the Office of the Chief Coroner
  • Notice: Facilities Closure for January 29 2025

    Please be advised that all sites operated by Southwestern Public Health are closed until 1:30PM on Wednesday January 29 2025 due to a staff meeting.

    Environment Canada is forecasting temperatures as low as -14˚C and -23˚C with the wind chill, in the SWPH region beginning Tuesday evening and continuing into the morning on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2025.
