Dog bite incident in Woodstock on January 18, 2025

Southwestern Public Health is seeking assistance in identifying a dog involved in a bite incident that occurred at Roth Park Dog Park in Woodstock on January 18, 2025, around 5 p.m.

The incident happened when a man was bitten on the hand while trying to break up a fight between his dog and another dog. At the time, only two parties were present: the injured man with his dog, and a woman with her son and two black dogs, described as a Golden Retriever and Bernese Mountain dog mix.

Southwestern Public Health is requesting the dog owner to come forward to confirm the dog's vaccination status. This information is essential to assist the injured individual and their healthcare provider in determining the need for rabies post-exposure treatment.
