Southwestern Public Health reporting six new measles exposures in healthcare settings
Southwestern Public Health is advising the community of six new measles exposures.
The exposures occurred at the following locations and timeframes:
Woodstock Hospital - Emergency Department
310 Juliana Drive, Woodstock
- March 5, 2025 - 1:43 PM to 5:16 PM
St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital - Emergency Department
189 Elm St, St. Thomas
- February 27, 2025 - 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM
- March 1, 2025 - 10:00 PM to 12:15 AM on March 2, 2025
- March 2, 2025 - 6:30 PM to 10:03 PM
- March 4, 2025 - 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital Emergency Department
167 Rolph Street, Tillsonburg
- March 6, 2025 - 1:50 PM to 3:55 PM
If you were present at these locations during these timeframes, were born in 1970 or later, and are not up to date with your vaccinations, please call public health at 1-800-922-0096. This includes those who were only present briefly as measles is highly contagious and can linger in the air for up to two hours.

Measles is a reportable disease of public health significance that can result in complications such as diarrhea, ear infections, and pneumonia. Rarely, measles can cause brain infections and death.
