SWPH Healthy Growth and Development program introduces ‘Know & Grow’

Southwestern Public Health is excited to introduce ‘Know & Grow’ as a sub-brand for its pregnancy and baby support

Southwestern Public Health wants to make it easier for families to find services for pregnancy and baby support.

“We had different program names in Elgin County and in Oxford County. We hoped it would be much easier for families to find us if they only had to remember one name, so ‘Know and Grow’ was born,” says Felix Harmos, Program Manager of Healthy Growth and Development for the region. “We intend for ‘Know and Grow’ to be an easily recognizable, useful and accessible resource for those planning a pregnancy, already pregnant or raising a child from birth to age six.”

As part of this rebranding initiative, the former ‘Baby & Me Clinics’ in Elgin County and ‘Ask a Nurse Clinics’ in Oxford County will now be called the Know & Grow Clinics across both regions.

In addition, the former ‘Family Health Line’ in Elgin County and ‘Health Matters Line’ in Oxford County will now be called the ‘Know & Grow Line’. The Know & Grow Line will maintain existing phone numbers for each location:

• Know & Grow Line Elgin-St. Thomas: 519-631-9900 x 1400
• Know & Grow Line Oxford: 519-421-9901 x 3473

Related materials, web pages and resources will be rebranded to include the Know & Grow logo alongside the Southwestern Public Health logo.

While our drop-in Know & Grow Clinics remain suspended due to COVID-19, the health unit reminds families that pregnancy and baby support is still available. Families can call the Know & Grow Line to speak to a Public Health Nurse about preconception, pregnancy, child birth, and parenting, or they can visit www.swpublichealth.ca/knowandgrow for more information and resources.
