The Southwest IPAC Hub is here to help group homes, shelters, and other community living settings prevent infections and stop the spread of germs.

What is the IPAC Hub?

The Southwest IPAC Hub is a team of infection control experts from:

• Middlesex-London Health Unit

• Huron Perth Public Health

• Southwestern Public Health

We’re part of a province-wide program called Keeping Ontarians Safe. We work together with local health care partners to help places like group homes and long-term care homes improve infection prevention and control (IPAC) practices.

Who do we help?

We work with congregate living settings funded or overseen by various Ontario ministries, including:

• Ministry of Health (MOH)

• Ministry of Long-Term Care (MLTC)

• Ministry of Seniors and Accessibility (MSAA)

• Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH)

• Ministry of Children, Community, and Social Services (MCCSS)

We support different types of living settings, including:

• Long-term care homes

• Retirement homes

• Group homes

• Shelters

• Supportive housing

• Residential treatment centres

• Hospices
