Providing safe, healthy housing for seasonal workers is an important responsibility. Southwestern Public Health (SWPH) inspects housing each year to make sure it meets safety standards before workers arrive. This guide will walk you through the inspection process so you can get your housing approved quickly and easily.

What should you know before the inspection?

  • Timing matters: Submit your inspection request early—3 to 4 months ahead of your workers’ arrival.

  • Water source required: Ensure the water source is available before the inspection.

  • Payment required upfront: We cannot schedule an inspection until your payment is received.

How do you pay for your inspection?

You can pay in one of two ways:

  • In person: Pay by cheque, debit, cash, or credit card at one of our locations. Find locations and hours.

  • Online: If you use the online form, you can pay by credit card through PayPal. You don’t need a PayPal account—just follow the “Buy Now” prompt and check out as a guest.

Note: Payments are not accepted at the time of the inspection. And an inspection will not occur until payment has been received.
