Boil Water Advisory for Areas of St. Thomas
UPDATE: This boil water advisory ended on September 6, 2024 at 4:29PMSouthwestern Public Health has issued a boil water advisory to areas in the City of St. Thomas, specifically Station Street, St. Catherine Street (north of Curtis Street), Mondamin Street (north of Curtis Street), Hiawatha Street (north of Owaissa Street), Owaissa Street, Antrim Street, Beverley Street, Eagle Street, Omemee Street, Meda Street, Kains Street (east of Hiawatha Street to Station Street), Curtis Street (east to St. Catherine Street).
The advisory was issued as a result of water sample results that indicated the presence of bacteria. While resampling is scheduled, the advisory is issued as a precaution.
The Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Ninh Tran, has advised users of the City of St. Thomas Water Distribution System consumers specifically in the locations listed above to bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute prior to using it for domestic purposes, such as drinking, making infant formula and juice, brushing teeth, washing raw foods, and making ice.

Water samples are collected in geographic boundaries. This advisory is specific to users within the identified area. Addresses that are affected will receive a hand-delivered notification, and a follow up notification when the advisory ends.
