Employees are either part of a non-union group, the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), or the Ontario Nurses Association (ONA).

How do I apply for a job at SWPH? |

No, SWPH does not accept unsolicited resumes; please apply to a specific position opening. |
Who should I address my cover letter to? |
‘Dear Hiring Leader’ or ‘Dear Human Resources’ is an appropriate salutation for a cover letter. |
Does SWPH accept mailed applications or resumes? |
No, the only applications we accept are those submitted electronically. Refer to Question 1: "How do I apply for a job at SWPH" for instructions. |
Should I include references in my application? |
No, we will only ask for references if selected for an interview. At that time, we will request three references, with one being your most recent immediate supervisor. We will also request written consent to contact your references. |
Who can I call to learn the status of my application? |
We appreciate all applications for job postings at SWPH. However, we will only contact you if you are selected for pre-screening or an interview. We cannot respond to inquiries about what stage we are at in the selection process as we recruit for multiple positions at a time. For some vacancies, this process can take several months. |
How can I get help if I am having trouble submitting my resume online? |

No, we will only ask for a criminal record check once a conditional offer of employment is made; at that time, you will be given instruction on whether a VSC or CRJMC is needed and how to obtain and correctly submit it. |

There are currently no volunteer positions available. Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Southwestern Public Health. SWPH does not accept unsolicited volunteer applications. Interested applicants must apply for volunteer positions as they become available on our website. Public Health Emergency Response Sometimes emergency situations arise where volunteers are called upon to help. If there is a need in the community for emergency volunteer recruitment, these positions will be posted on our website. |

Additional Student Placements Details SWPH believes there is great value in learning that occurs when positive education experiences provided for students create professional development opportunities for staff. Quality student placements offer students insight into public health career options, and direct work experience. Education placement opportunities tailored to meet the students’ learning objectives also provide increased awareness about the diverse programs and services available within Public Health. At SWPH placements have been provided for multidisciplinary health-related programs such as: medicine, nursing, health promotion, nutrition, plus a variety of Graduate programs. Placements are subject to SWPH’s capacity to provide an opportunity based on academic program guidelines, placement objectives and the course syllabus provided by the school.
