Southwestern Public Health (SWPH) enforces the Skin Cancer Prevention (Tanning Beds) Act to reduce the likelihood of youth being exposed to UV radiation at a young age. Indoor tanning can be hazardous to your health and youth are especially at risk. As a result, the use of tanning beds is prohibited in Ontario for those younger than 18 years old. SWPH conducts inspections of tanning beds on a complaint basis only. Reports will be posted for two years.
